  Afghanistan is hosting its first international conference in more than 30 years with officials from more than 60 countries. The aim of the meeting in Kabul, the capital, is to help the Afghan government become more independent from foreign forces and build a brighter future for the country. Bernard Kouchner, the French foreign minister, is among those officials attending the conference. In an interview with Al Jazeera's James Bays, Kouchner said that his country is in Afghanistan to deliver none other than what the Afghan people want. [July 19, 2010]

  The drinking age in the US has been 21 for more than 20 years. Today, we all take the drinking age for granted, but should we? In fact, the US is one of only four countries in the world with a drinking age as high as 21--the other three are Indonesia, Mongolia and Palau. Is the policy working to reduce health and safety issues related to youthful alchohol abuse? Is enforcing the drinking age the best use of scarce public resources? What are the unintended consequences of alcohol prohibition for 18-20 year olds? Organizations such as Mother Against Drunk Driving (MADD) argue that the drinking age is an effective policy and that the answer to ongoing alcohol related problems for 18-20 year olds is more education and better enforcement. John McCardell, president of Choose Responsibility, and 135 university presidents and chancellors across the country believe it's time to take a fresh look at the drinking age. The former president of Middlebury College and the new head of Sewanee/University of the South, McCardell says our current system encourages unsupervised binge drinking.   Kahler vs. Floyd Rose NOT misleadin...
  A Kahler seller/tech created a video saying my Kahler vs. Floyd Rose comparison is misleading. After receiving tons of negative feedback (see all comments below my video), he eventually removed his video. Yet, this additional video I've posted should clarify some issues related to my Kahler vs. Floyd Rose comparison. I'm a Kahler buyer, not a seller, so I think my information is definitely unbiased. Basically, with his video, the seller argued Kahlers do not go out of tune with bends. He also argued Kahlers do not require any special procedures to stay in tune overall, including the use of Chapstick. This video is my defense against his video and criticism. Keep in mind there's always a chance people may create another Kahler video after watching this video. People may do some camera editing or even follow my own hacks to show their Kahlers staying in tune. As a consumer, you should make your own decision based on what you see. I've played (and owned) TONS of guitars with Kahlers, and they ALL went out of tune with string bending. If your Kahler doesn't go out of tune with bends, you have my blessing, and you should be proud of your gear. There's no need to turn this into an endless discussion.
