- Server Monitor DEMO for Palm WebOS...This is the DEMO version of Server Monitor. The demo version allows only one server address to be added. Server Monitor allows you to monitor up to twenty servers. The server addresses you have added will be checked by our server, which means you don't need to keep the application running or keep your phone on. You can even set an email alert address so you will automatically receive an email if one of your given servers addresses is offline (set up to five email addresses). You can also keep the application running and set it to vibrate and / or pop-up when a server changes status. Currently we support the following protocols: http, https, ftp, gopher, telnet, dict, file, and ldap. Another option is the possibility to set a magic word. We will then download the content of the given server address and if we don't find the magic word, your server will be listed as offline. With the magic word you can monitor other services, for example MySQL. You can also set the timeout for the list with your servers to refresh and you can set the option whether the back-light of your BlackBerry should stay on as long as the application is opened. The last option is the possibility to connect your server list with other BlackBerry phones. Every new installation of Server Monitor will generate a User ID which you can change, for example to a User ID of someone else. If you change your User ID to the same one of someone else you will see the same list on both phones. And if one edits the ...

- Philippe Cousteau, Jr.: The Tremend...VOTE FOR THIS PEPSI REFRESH THE GULF PROJECT AT gulf.refresheverything.com Philippe Cousteau, Jr., documentary filmmaker, environmentalist, and Ocean Correspondent for Discovery Channel, visits Apalachicola Bay on July 13, 2010, to focus on its unique, but fragile, river and bay ecosystems. While visiting, Philippe learned of a fantastic local response program that addresses the pyschological and scientific impacts of the oil spill along the Gulf of Mexico coastline. The OSPREY [Oil Spill REcoveRY] Program is a volunteer mission of the Apalachicola Bay and Riverkeeper to photo-monitor the coastline of Apalachicola Bay in Franklin County Florida. This citizen science program was initiated in May 2010 as a response to the Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill that threatens our Bay ecosystems, its fisheries, and our livelihoods along the Panhandle Gulf Coast of Florida. Following established protocols, and Environmental Sensitivity Maps, we are using video cams and GPS devices to catalog the baseline conditions of habitats along our shores. We train citizens of local communities and loan out OSPREY Kits containing everything they need to participate in this environmental documentation project. We are posting and indexing these videos, along with field observation data, to a photo-sharing site on Flickr www.flickr.com and to Google Earth. Site Visitors will be able to add their own observations, and data update, and eventually, their own photos, and in this way, our efforts will ...
- Collagen Cross-Linking for Keratoco...The most promising technology for treating Keratoconus called collagen cross linking (CXL) with UVA is currently being introduced into the United States under experimental protocols in Clinical Trials. This treatment, which has been used in Europe for eight years, now is undergoing Phase 1 FDA clinical trials in the United States. It has been demonstrated to be safe and effective if performed, with the epithelium removed, and has the potential to stop the progression of Keratoconus. This treatment is recommended for individuals with progressive Keratoconus or Ectasia following LASIK to stabilize the cornea. It can be performed with our without INTACS. Even though enrollment for this procedure for the FDA trials is closed, our center is one of the only centers in the United States that has received and IDE (Investigational Device Exemption) from the FDA to treat patients with this procedure and we are currently enrolling patients under an Investigational protocol. This protocol allows us to enroll patients for the next 5 years and can be viewed on the government website -- www.clinicaltrials.gov. Since this treatment is still regarded as experimental in the United States it should only be done with Institutional Review Board (IRB) approval, so that patients can adequately be protected. The procedure, which is painless, is as follows. The top layer of the cornea is removed under local anesthesia. Vitamin drops are soaked into the cornea until they penetrate the entire ...
