International Business Machines Cor...International Business Machines Corp. (NYSE:IBM) reported Q2 results following the closing bell Monday, showing net income of $2.61 per share on revenue of $23.72 billion, topping the Thomson Reuters estimates of $2.58 per share on revenue of $23.25 billion. Net income was $3.4 billion and the company raised its 2010 EPS outlook to a minimum of $11.25. IBM's chairman, president and chief executive officer Samuel J. Palmisano commented, "In the second quarter we again delivered double-digit earnings-per-share growth, increased margins, as well as improving constant-currency revenue performance in our ongoing software, services and hardware businesses, and in all geographies." The computer solutions and information technology provider is currently above its 50-day moving average (MA) of $127.22 and above its 200-day of $127.02. In the last five trading sessions, the 50-day MA has fallen -0.02% while the 200-day MA has risen 0.18%. Shares of IBM closed Monday's trading session at $129.79.
News Update: International Business...International Business Machines Corp. (NYSE:IBM) officials said Thursday that the computer-services provider has agreed to purchase Emeryville, California-based BigFix, Inc. for around $400 million, in a move to gain security and compliance automation programs. BigFix software recommends solutions to devices that are not compliant with corporate policy. IBM chief executive officer Sam Palmisano said the company plans to spend around $20 billion during the next five years on acquisitions. IBM officials have not disclosed other terms of the deal. Shares of IBM are trading down 1.12% Thursday afternoon at $122.10.
